Hi. I'm Joseph Aulisi

Joseph is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ who helps people work through some of life’s most challenging financial questions – from deciding when to retire and determining how much is enough, to reshaping an investment portfolio that might have been built for a different stage of life. There isn’t always a right answer to these questions. Instead, his main focus is helping individuals and families figure out what they want their wealth to achieve, and then building a plan to help them get there.

Joseph brings almost a decade of experience across banking, private equity, and financial planning to the Foundry team. He began his career analyzing business financials and planning around corporate strategy. Today, he applies many of those same principles to helping people manage and optimize their household balance sheets.

Joseph received a B.A. in Economics from Macalester College where he was also a pitcher on the varsity baseball team. He lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife, Lydia, their son, Carson, and their two cats, Felix and Jet. Outside of work, Joseph enjoys playing guitar, working on his golf game (the transition over from baseball has been tough), and spending time in the Outer Banks with family and friends.

About Joseph Aulisi

“You spend decades being told to be a saver, but when the day you’ve been saving for finally arrives, you’re all of a sudden asked to become a spender. In my experience, people tend to struggle with that transition, especially the most diligent savers.”

I have been interested in personal finance ever since I was 12 years old and first learned about compound interest from reading one of Warren Buffett’s shareholder letters. I couldn’t believe how powerful it was, and it was the first time that I ever thought about time as a financial tool. That interest quickly developed into a passion, and I became even more excited when I realized that I could take that passion and use it to help other families navigate their financial lives.

I consider it a privilege to work with clients and deeply appreciate the relationships I have been able to build over the years. Financial principles might be what initially got me interested in planning as a career, but it’s the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor in people’s lives that gets me so excited to come into work every day.
